At least he (she?) did have that conversation at the same time Leon was in his way to Mythband, so it makes sense that it was his (hers?) aura that we see in panel 4. In panel 3 he is definitely bigger than in panel 5. Maintainer holding Leon above that circle reminds me about Rex Caligo holding Bryce in "iii - Very Helpful". Except that Rex seems to be bigger.
