Craig: Is Marcus inspecting the saucer in panel 2?

J.D.: *shrug*  Maybe he’s just looking at something other than Ignatius.

Craig: The name of the restaurant, “Zimmo’s”, is a reference to a role-playing character I had waaaaay back in the day.  Like, 1993.  He was a prank-pulling pixie rogue.

J.D.: I remember him.  He always resented the powers-that-be requiring him to go on quests.  He delighted in making fools of them, and then talking his way out of it somehow.  You were cruel to your GM.

Craig: I was in Springfield, Massachusetts — gosh, I guess it had to be about 1997, and I remember driving down Main Street and seeing a big building with the giant words “Hall of Justice” on it.

J.D.: It was the courthouse.

Craig: Well, yes, no doubt.  But as kid who grew up on Superfriends, I couldn’t help but feel like something was *very wrong*.

J.D.: Springfield’s courthouse was constructed before the invention of Superfriends!  I think.

Craig: In any event, since our story occurs in the city of Springfield —

J.D.: — though not necessarily Massachusetts —

Craig: I couldn’t help but include the Hall of Justice in our fair city.

J.D.: Though yours is a Hall of Justice parking sign, as opposed to the engraved stone of the actual building.

J.D.: Sometimes it’s sad to have the dialog in a panel.

Craig: What do you mean?

J.D.: I remember doing a lot of work on panel 1 and it was this beautiful setting and scenery that is largely obscured by the conversation taking place in the panel.

Craig: Oh yeah, that’s right!  You can’t see it, but behind Ignatius’s words there’s an ad for the local radio station that says “Wake up Springfield!”

Solitaire? Really? What a waste of a wi-fi connection. Shouldn’t the laptop be showing webcomics or some other better use of the Internet?

    Layne

  2. Stevil Says:

Oh the word balloon, Actually the guys over at telltale games, (the sam and max webcomic) use flash to have the word balloons appear when you mouse over it. Something to think about for the future, perhaps?

Apparently Ignatius knows the difference between fey power and that girl. 🙂

    Hehe, most amusing Timo 🙂

She’s holding the book that Rex found in Bryce’s Bookstore, you know, the one that doesn’t burn up when she held a lighter to it.

Now I’m all excited! I don’t even remember this one.

AFAIR, two. But yes, I’m also looking forward to hopefully reading some new Penance soon. (Also, LOL at Timo)
