Well,

Maybe noticing Leon would be TREASON. :-)

I kinda think that Leon, with multiple winged ladies in tow, would not be someone that an angry Tara, longing for the sweet devouring of Mor-Megauth, would be attracted to. Let's face it, Lucky found out early on what happens when you go and start saying "Hi" to everyone.

You die.

It could be a simple matter of them not noticing each other yet. When you don't expect to see someone in a certain place, sometimes it takes a minute for it to register that they're there, even after you do see them.

Obviously Tara wouldn't recognize Ranger, who was Leon's Mythband character. But, although Leon in Mythband looks a bit different than in Covenant Hill (more serious), they are the same person, and the differences are because of different clothing and hair style and better drawing skill, aren't they? At least they look as if they were close relatives. I am not sure.

I liked Paranoia, but part of the enjoyment was how my sister ran it. :) We mostly played D&D and AD&D, though.

Although I found Paranoia in its several versions to be too disruptive and not my bag. A better concept as a solo computer game or online RPG, maybe.

The best D&D player I knew was a woman, a school teacher of mine that formed a fantasy literature / gaming club that we were in back in 1980. She played the original, advanced, Traveler, and I don't remember if Gamma World was out yet, but she talked about ideas that would lead me to Gamma World.

I've had at least two friends that had the _original_ Gary Gygax books. I felt somehow in awe to see them. I also played D&D when I was in Germany - that had a different feel that I really like because they went for medieval realism.

I don't have a problem with any system itself, but I got angry that someone made obsolete the ganme into which I put much effort, money, and time. I know that you can't call it Advanced Advanced D&D, but I felt used, simply a cash cow. I just knew what was up in the old system. Just like I just know how to play Dungeons of Daggorrath.

I like Das Schwarze Auge. I like lotsa others. When my kids get a little older I'm going to buy Vanished Planet, for sure. That's an absolute winner and a great concept.

And I like this comic. When it's a book, I'll buy it.

I've never played since THACO was ousted, so I haven't even tried the newer versions. Just not enough stay-at-home moms interested in picking up D&D. ;)

I like the outfits. Don't think that's Azriel. The perspective in Haven(?) is weird, like they're hundreds of feet above the ground (but then, why not? They probably should be able to fly in the world created by the Maintainer). And there are very few things in this comic that can be read that don't have some relevance, so...

Why 22?

Charles: I remember the good old days of THAC0 too. Frankly though, I'm glad that Wizard revamped the system for v3. The new system, despite its faults, is more intuitive and much easier to teach to new players. (Bigger is better, unlike 2nd edition AC.) Looking forward to seeing what v4 is like.

Pav: Welcome back!!! We've missed you. Marcus just hasn't had a chance to change his shirt since page 2-23, poor guy. :)
