– Commentary –

J.D.: I love the band.  You kind of drew one member from each different musical genre.  And we called them “Eclectic.”

Craig: I think my favorite is the guy playing the flying V with the hat.  He reminds me of a cool blues… guy.  I love the pattern you used on the shirt of the guy with the ‘fro.

J.D.: I used patterns on the shirts of all the guys surrounding Kate.  But she’s not even looking at them.  She’s looking at the guy to the far left.

Craig: And he seems to have noticed her as well.  🙂

J.D.: For those of you keeping score, Lucky is in this page too.

Craig: And I see that Leon has acquired a pair of wire cutters despite Jonah’s refusal to help.

J.D.: He probably “borrowed” them from Jonah like he “borrows” the internet connection later.

Craig: I think it’s interesting how this page really draws a line between Leon’s passions and everyone else’s.  Even in her pain, Tara chooses to be at least somewhat social.  But Leon is happiest when alone.

J.D.: With Shiela.

Craig: Heh.  I love the lighting effect you used on Leon’s flashlight.  How did you do that?

J.D.: It’s funny how you can make something look bright by oversaturating it with white.  I actually don’t remember all the details of how I did that one, but it had a lot to do with airbrushing and translucency.  The trick actually came when I had to shade Leon in light of the beam of the flashlight.  It helps make the lighting effect work.

Oh, I hadn’t noticed Lucky. I guess you’d have to know, ofcourse ;). Anyway, Jonah is looking worried. Maybe he noticed his wire cutter was gone before he left? Or is he just be disappointed Leon isn’t there ;).

Heh I didn’t notice Lucky before you mentioned it either..

I love how you made the “surrounding boys'” eyes fixed to ‘interesting’ things. Or at least it looks like it.

Jonah indeed looks sad/worried. And the flashlight on last panel looks awesome.
