I agree. Plot is thickening. Tara in panel 3 looks exactly like Scully in you know what :-).

Hmm, it’s interesting to see the two “villains” kind of squaring off against each other so soon. Villain on villain fights are just so much better than hero vs villain in my opinion…for instance on Angel when the team brought back Angelus to deal with the Beast. The nice thing about V on V action is that neither side has any honor or pulls any punches.
I wonder what Ignatius’ motives are for barging in, and if his power is anywhere near the level or Rex.

I think that Iggy wants the thaumacaudex, from Greek and Latin roots “miraculous book,” the dagger, and the girl if that gets him power.
The book of the name has its roots not only in cabbalistic literature describing the Tree of the Sefirot but in the Old Testament itself, the Hebrew title of the Book of Exodus, and the special designations of genealogies from Adam to the family of Jesus of Nazareth, which even scholars that doubt the age and sources of the Hebrew Bible nevertheless affirm as valid and spanning multiple sources and forms.
Add the Corpus Hermeticum, the apocalyptic literature with the marks of the Lamb and the Beast, and you have a tale that reminds one of what Tolkien considers the best sort of stories in “On Fairy-Stories.”
Rex is an excellent devil in so many ways. In contrast, there isn’t much good to counter the pure evil. So it’s truth and dare time in the plot line. Very good.

Notice also that Rex and Lilith have similar colored speech bubbles when they “go supernatural?”
There’s got to be some explaining to do. Looks like a classic bit of the Good, the Bad, and the Looks Almost Like Chthulhu. And their family reunions get real wild…

Yay! We got commentary this week! 😉 I was beginning to miss it. Unfortunately, I can’t pass the Nyquil, I’m too busy hogging it myself.
